Dave has been playing guitar for over 35 years, and teaching for over 15 years. He has played in several cover and original bands, and continues to perform solo and with bands (acoustic and electric). Dave studied music in college, but majored in Sociology. He also studied under the direction of other private guitar instructors. He has a BA degree, with a major in Sociology, and was a social worker for Washtenaw County. He has been teaching lessons full time for over a decade, having taught over 17,000 lessons to students of all ages, abilities, and varied goals with the guitar. Dave attributes his interests in people and society as a contributing factor in his ability to teach a broad range of students.
Dave is also a singer/songwriter. He has recorded with 3 bands including his own band Paledave. His band has 2 albums out Find What You Love (2004) and One Good Leg (2008). Dave continues to write and record and will be releasing a new album of original songs, "Still Tickets Left", by August 2017.
